● STRIKE SYSTEM

Here at Isla Nycta we go by a 5 offense system:

▸ 1st kick
▸ 2nd kick
▸ 3rd kick
▸ 4th kick / 24 hour ban
▸ 5th kick / Indefinite ban (can attempt to appeal after at least a month)

The staff reserves the right to skip all "warning" punishments and Permanently ban someone that has proven to have no regard for our rules or community. If you feel you were unfairly banned, create a ticket here #pot-counter-reports. The following will net you an immediate 24 hour ban:

Mass killing (3+ bodies)
Combat Logging/Logging out with bleed (unless utilizing #pot-reports to report someone rule breaking)

Racist/homophobic/sexist/etc comments will be an Indefinite Ban from all Isla Nycta servers and Discord if applicable. The punishment for this is often without a warning as we expect people to have common sense when it comes to these kinds of infractions.

Every month, your offenses are reviewed to see if a mark against you will be removed. Should your ban be lifted and you receive another Indefinite Ban, it will become a Permanent instead and will not be appealed. Even if you manage to get a clean slate from the monthly removals of kicks the second punishment of an Indefinite Ban will be Permanent.

Please go to #pot-counter-reports and search for your Alderon ID to see if you've received a kick. Should you find your ID and have no recollection of the kick, please create a ticket. There you'll be able to get a complete run down of your offenses and have a chance to contest them, no matter how old the kick might be.

● DISCORD RULES

1. Abide by Discord's Terms Of Service and Guidelines

2. Moderators can handle most issues, go to them first!

3. No posting pictures/links of any kind in general chat.

4. Don't be a dick to anyone in the discord. Proper punishment will be assigned.

5. Posting racist/homophobic/sexist/etc. comments can lead to an automatic ban.

6. Having to be warned more than once may result in a temporary ban/kick.

In addition;

Attempting to abuse loopholes in these rules may still result in punishment. If you have questions on if something is allowed or not, contact a staff member or don't do it.

● GENERAL RULES

• While it's not mandatory, changing your discord to match your in game name will make it easier to contact you about possible strikes/bans.

• Video evidence is needed for #pot-reports! You can find different ways to record and upload your videos in #pot-faq. Unless it is a chat related offense, we do not take word of mouth. Screen shots are acceptable on a case by case basis.

• Toxicity is not welcome here. If you are being asked to stop by a staff member and you continue you can be kicked or banned depending on the severity. Racism/homophobia/hate speech/etc is not tolerated in our servers whatsoever and will result in an immediate community ban without warning.

• Outside of events Admin do not grow players. If a growth event occurs, please do not ask to be grown. Chances are you will not be. Admin will not teleport you to friends outside of rule breaks.

• Do not impersonate staff or a developer by claiming you are one, or by changing your in game name.

• Being a Supporter, Booster or even a staff member does not make you exempt from the rules.

● SEMI-REALISM RULES

• No use of exploits or any game breaking mechanics, including, but not limited to:
▸ Pulling off and dropping multiple chunks of meat to make a carcass decay faster.
▸ Repeatedly abusing collision boxes in a fight
▸ Sticking your head through rocks or logs to bite at something you cannot realistically see.

• No killing on sight or killing for sport (KOS/KFS). Only kill what you plan to eat.
▸ This includes randomly bone-breaking players for sport.
▸ On that note, kill or be killed. If you attack a herbivore, it can run you down and kill you to save itself.
▸ Hunts cannot begin during the 1 minute restart timer. Please be aware of the restart warnings.

• No killing non-participating bystanders to stop a confrontation.
▸ This includes targeting juveniles and hatchlings not participating in the fight.

• No targeting specific players, or revenge killing, including, but not limited to:
▸ Returning to an area, and being aggressive to those who killed you.
▸ Swapping to a new dinosaur and hunting others in the area you were previously. You must be passive for 30 minutes upon swapping unless defending yourself.

• No fleeing into home caves while being chased or hunted, nor camping outside of home caves waiting for people to enter or leave to attack them.

• No baiting; including but not limited to:
▸ Inviting someone to a group to see their location so they can be killed.
▸ Inviting someone with a waystone so they can be killed.
▸ Randomly attacking someone in your group; remove them from the group or leave group and Aggressive Call them multiple times first to give them a chance to run.
▸ Asking someone to kill you, then turning around and killing them. If you want to die in a fight, make that clear.

• No giving out the named locations of others.

• No protecting others outside of your own species or pack.
▸ Carnivores CANNOT help other carnivores outside of their pack or species in any way, this includes waystoning
▸ Herbivores of separate species can herd together, but cannot protect one another in a hunt.
▸ Tier 0 can be tolerated by everyone. Meat Shielding rules apply and can be found under the Herbivore category.

• No combat logging. This means logging out while you are being hunted. To log out, you must escape from the predator (they lost you/obtained a body down).

• It is required to follow group limits and mandatory behaviors set in the profile channels (#pot-herbivore-profiles, #pot-carnivore-profiles), all other profile behaviors are optional and for flavor.

• Hatchlings, juveniles and adolescents have an unlimited herd/pack limit unless stated otherwise in the profiles. Once one progresses into Sub-Adult they must abide by herd/pack limits.

• If your pack/herd is full, any babies that grow to Sub-Adult must be kicked out unless stated otherwise in the profiles.

• Only dinosaurs that can eat meat are able to carry around chunks.

• Friendly Calling doesn't always mean friendship. Aggressive Calling and mock-biting can be seen as a "get away" warning, or an attempt to pick a fight. Use with caution.

• Spam calling can get you threatened and attacked, even by your own group.
▸ Aggressive Call at least twice to warn them to stop spam-calling. If they don’t, you can attack them.
▸ If you're actively trying to get away from the spam caller and they keep following you for an extended period of time, this is considered griefing and is reportable.
▸ If a group member is spam calling, Aggressive Call them repeatedly AND tell them in group chat to stop. If they don’t, you can attack them.
▸ A body drop or Distress Calls from anyone stops the fight.

● CARNIVORE RULES

• All mandatory behaviors and pack limits for every carnivore can be found in the #pot-carnivore-profiles channel.

• Preplaced corpses, and player bodies count as a body down. Other things like meat chunks, AI, Tier 0 playables, fish, scallops, bones, etc do NOT count as a body down.
▸ Hunts CANNOT take place if there is a visible unclaimed body down; it must first be eaten or claimed by another party.
▸ If a body is claimed by Tier 0 carnivores, you MUST challenge them for it before hunting in the area. Be cautious! They can fight back and continue to Swarm until they're dead, or you forfeit by Distress Calling and/or making an obvious attempt to leave.
▸ If hunting a Tier 0, that body must be eaten before hunting another one. Killing multiples without stopping to eat them one at a time is KOS and reportable.

• Carnivores may claim ONE body down. If multiple are in the same area, they can claim all that are within the claiming carnivore's personal space .
▸ Your personal space is equal to one of your dinosaur's body lengths around you (nose to tail tip).
▸ Eating from or guarding a body down is considered claiming it.

ONLY tier 0, tier 1 and hatchling/juvenile carnivores are allowed to attempt to steal from a claimed body down without challenging at their own risk.
▸ Taking chunks / eating from someone else's claimed body down can result in being bitten without warning.
▸ If something has stolen from your claimed body down and is making an obvious attempt to leave, let it escape if you're not hunting it.

• Carnivores must be aggressive to other carnivores outside of their pack near their claimed body down, and in their personal space.
▸ Tier 0 playables can be tolerated nearby and meat shielded by carnivores at their own risk.
▸ Your personal space is equal to one of your dinosaur's body lengths around you (nose to tail tip).
▸ If you Aggressive Call something near your claimed body down, or within your personal space multiple times and it does not leave, you may attack and chase it off but if it Distress Calls or runs away, let it escape if you're not hunting it.

• Carnivores are allowed to leave their claimed body down as long as they do not hunt in or around the area until it has despawned.
▸ If you leave your claimed body down and it gets claimed by another carnivore, you MUST challenge and attempt to get it back before hunting in the area.
▸ You can leave a smaller body down to challenge for a bigger one, but cannot return to that old body down unless you lose the challenge, or the new body down becomes unavailable to you.

● HERBIVORE RULES

• All mandatory behaviors and pack limits for every herbivore can be found in the #pot-herbivore-profiles channel.

• Herbivores CANNOT guard a body down or meat chunks, and cannot prevent carnivores from eating or accessing them.

• Herbivores of different species are allowed to herd together as long as the individual herd limits are followed, and separate species do not protect each other.

• Herbivores are allowed to use another herbivore of separate species same-sized or larger as a meat-shield when being hunted.
Meat-shielding: Using an eligible herbivore you can herd with as a barrier between you and a carnivore hunting you. The meat-shield would protect it's personal space, inadvertently protecting you while you're in it.
▸ An eligible herbivore is the same/higher tier than you, or similar/larger in height and weight as you.
▸ Look out! A meat-shield could choose to leave you behind, or threaten you off.
▸ Your personal space is equal to one of your dinosaur's body lengths around you (nose to tail tip).
▸ If a carnivore makes an attack in the herbivores personal space, it can be considered a hunt, even if it wasn't the intended target.
▸ Herbivores CANNOT go out of their way to run to protect a herbivore outside their species or herd.
▸ Tier 0 playables can be tolerated nearby and meat shielded by herbivores at their own risk.

• Herbivores must show aggression to carnivores that linger in their personal space. Herbivores can protect their personal space from other herbivores as well if they so choose, but are not required to unless its profile mandatory.
▸ Your personal space is equal to one of your dinosaur's body lengths around you (nose to tail tip).
▸ If something is lingering in your personal space, you can Aggressive Call it at least twice and if it does not leave, you may attack and chase it off but if it Distress Calls or runs away, let it escape.
▸ Herbivores should not go out of their way to make another dinosaur enter their personal space just to be aggressive towards them.
▸ If a carnivore makes an attack in the herbivores personal space, it can be considered a hunt, even if it wasn't the intended target.

● OMNIVORE RULES

• Pachycephalosaurus are considered to be omnivores.

• Omnivores and herbivores are allowed to herd together.
▸ When herded with herbivore(s), omnivores are not allowed to hunt other players, cannot claim any player or preplaced bodies and must abide by herbivore rules.
▸ If an omnivore leaves a group to hunt or claim a body down, it cannot return to any herbivore herd for 30 minutes.
▸ Herbivores must be aggressive to omnivores that are not in their herd and treat them as predators/carnivores.
▸ Tier 0 playables can be tolerated nearby and meat shielded by omnivores at their own risk.

● HUNTS

• Distress Calls DO NOT matter in a hunt, kill or be killed.

• Carnivores do not need to make an Aggressive Call before hunting.

• Hunts CANNOT take place if there is an unclaimed body down; it MUST first be eaten or claimed by another party.
ONLY preplaced corpses, and player bodies count as a body down. Other things like meat chunks, AI, fish, scallops, bones, etc DO NOT count as a body down.
▸ If a body is claimed by tier 0 carnivores, you MUST challenge them for it before hunting in the area. Be cautious! They can fight back and continue to Swarm until they're dead, or you forfeit by Distress Calling and/or making an obvious attempt to leave.
▸ Once there is a body down, fighting must stop from all parties, and challenges can be made for the body down if necessary.

• No spawn killing or camping individuals that just logged in. Give them space and at least two minutes before you attack them.
▸ This includes those spawning in from being waystoned.
▸ If you are aggressive during this time, the timer is automatically forfeit, and you can be attacked.

• Third party interference is allowed in hunts.
▸ The third party must target all parties involved unless they are inaccessible or Tier 0, and MUST make a challenge for the body that drops.

• Land dinosaurs are not allowed to body deny in the water when being hunted.
▸ A death is considered body denial if your body sinks and your hunter cannot easily access it.
▸ Semi-aquatic and aquatic dinosaurs are able to use the water in anyway they choose, hunt at your own risk.
▸ Concavenator, Deinocheirus, Megalania, Sarcosuchus, Suchomimus, Spinosaurus and Thalassodromeus are considered semi-aquatic.
▸ Kaiwhekea is considered aquatic.

• If a carnivore starts a hunt on a herbivore and/or their same-species herd mates, they are able to defend themselves/their herd to the death. The carnivore (or one of them if it's a pack) can be killed by the herbivore to save itself.
▸ An interaction is considered a hunt if a carnivore openly tracks a herd for an extended period of time after being warned at least twice, or if a carnivore attempts to or successfully attacks an herbivore.
▸ Lingering around or walking through herds can provoke aggression. If the carnivore is warned at least twice and continues to linger, it can be attacked until it distances itself from the herd. Returning to antagonize the herd may lead to the carnivores death.
▸ If a carnivore makes an attack in the herbivores personal space, it can be considered a hunt, even if it wasn't the intended target.
▸ If a carnivore makes an obvious attempt to escape, the herbivore cannot continue to chase them if the carnivore leaves line of sight of the hunt location or if the both the herbivore and carnivore break away from the engagement, unless the carnivore returns and aggresses again.
▸ If you are being continuously hunted by Tier 0 carnivore pack, you can defend yourself to the death.

● CHALLENGES

BODY CHALLENGE: Carnivores may challenge for another carnivore’s claimed body down.
▸ A member from one side must make an Aggressive Call to initiate which must be accepted with an Aggressive Call. If multiple Aggressive Calls are not answered, or the challenged continues eating, the challenger can attack.
▸ Everyone on one side must Distress Call and/or make an obvious attempt to leave, or a body must drop for a fight to end.
▸ Those who forfeit by retreating cannot be targeted.
▸ Should a pack mate die in a fight, the body is considered unclaimed and must be challenged for when necessary. If they died during a challenge over a body, after winning claim to one body, you cannot challenge for the second unless they are within body length of each other.
▸ Third-party interference is NOT allowed. Wait for the challenge to conclude, and then challenge the winner or hunt the loser.
▸ The loser(s) cannot re-challenge the winner(s) for that body.
▸ If a body is claimed by tier 0 carnivores, you MUST challenge them for it before hunting in the area. Be cautious! They can fight back and continue to Swarm until they're dead, or you forfeit by Distress Calling and/or making an obvious attempt to leave.
• Challengers and their group members cannot eat, chunk, or steal from the body while their packmates are mid-contest, even if they have forfeited or choose not to participate.
▸ Juvis, Tier 0 and Tier 1 are exempt from this and may steal freely during body challenges.

LAKE CHALLENGE: Piscivores/fishers are able to challenge other fishers for rights to reside in a lake and rights to the aquatic resources in and on their shoreline (except for Great Lake).
▸ Challenge at your own risk! If there is no body present, a challenge can easily become a hunt even if someone forfeits.
▸ A member from one side must make an Aggressive Call to initiate which must be accepted with an Aggressive Call.
▸ Everyone on one side must Distress Call and/or make an obvious attempt to leave for a challenge over lake territory to end.
▸ Those who forfeit by retreating cannot be targeted by contestants during the challenge.
▸ Land dinosaurs are allowed to defend their right to remain if challenged.
▸ The loser cannot return to re-challenge until 30 minutes have passed, but they can return to drink before that at the risk of a forfeit being ignored.

HERBIVORE CHALLENGE: Herbivores are allowed to be aggressive to other herbivores for food, herding rights, bull fights, and mating rights if they so choose.
▸ Be careful! The whole herd can participate to protect their food source regardless of species.
▸ A member from one side must make an Aggressive Call to initiate which must be accepted with an Aggressive Call.
▸ Everyone on one side must Distress Call and/or make an obvious attempt to leave for the fight to end.
▸ Those who forfeit by retreating cannot be targeted.
▸ The fight ends when everyone on one side has forfeit.
▸ The loser(s) cannot re-challenge the winner(s) until 30 minutes have passed.
