STRIKE SYSTEM ●

Affects all Isla Nycta game servers, Discord channels, and affiliated sites.

Isla Nycta Staff reserves the right to skip all "warning" punishments and permanently ban someone that has proven to have no regard for our rules or community. If you feel you were unfairly banned, create a counter ticket in #isle-counter-reports.

We go by a 5 offense system. Where the first 3 rule breaks will each be a strike, the 4th progresses to a 24 hour ban, and the 5th is an Indefinite Ban, which can be appealed after at least a month. The exception to this is if you break one of the following rules, you will skip the strikes and get an immediate 24 hour or Permanent Ban, depending on the severity.

• Mass killing (3+ bodies).

• Combat Logging/Logging out with bleed (unless utilizing the reports channel to report someone rule breaking.)

• Using an alt account, Nyctokens, a Rulebreak Revival or the Patreon revival site to gain an unfair advantage.

• Racist/homophobic/sexist/etc. microaggression comments (with or without a warning)

• Out right Racist/homophobic/sexist/etc. comments is an immediate Permanent Ban from all servers and the Nycta community.

These offenses carry between server types where applicable. IE: If you're banned for mass KOSing on server 3, you will be banned on both semi-realism servers.

Every month your offenses are reviewed to see if a strike against you will be removed. Should your ban be lifted and you receive another Indefinite Ban later, it will become a Permanent with no chance of appeal.

To appeal your ban you can:

  • contact a staff member

  • ping @Discord Moderator in isle-assistance and ask

SERVER RULES ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle Semi-Realism servers.

• While it's not mandatory, changing your discord to match your in game name will make it easier to contact you about possible kicks/bans.

• Stay in the appropriate voice chat for the dino you are playing. If you are not playing The Isle, go to General VC.

• NO killing for sport/on sight.
This includes killing random bystanders to stop a confrontation.

• NO targeting specific players/revenge killing. Using the Patreon revival site or an alt account for this is an immediate 24 hour ban.

• NO spawn killing or camping. (If someone just logged in; give them space and a chance to move/react first. No hovering over someone and not giving them a chance. If someone clearly just freshly spawned, you're at a spawn point. Lingering and killing multiple fresh spawns may result in a kick).

• NO purposely making your body inedible to prevent something hunting you from eating you. (dying in water, jumping off hills, etc)

• NO baiting other players to kill them, including but not limited to:

  • -- Inviting someone to a group to see their location so they can be killed.

  • -- Randomly attacking on someone that’s in your group; remove them from the group if you can, 3 roar them multiple times first to give them a chance to run.

  • -- Hiding during a challenge. All valid parties must be seen.

  • -- Asking them to kill you then turning around and killing them. Make it clear that you want to die in a fight if that’s the case.

• NO combat logging. This means logging out while you are being hunted. To log out, you must escape from the predator (they lost you/can no longer chase you/obtained other food). If you escape, but are still bleeding, you cannot log out until you stop. If you log out before this, you will be banned.

• DO NOT give out specific locations of others. (IE: "Rex at trips!" not "Rex in the trees!")

• Herbivores are NOT allowed to corpse guard. If a kill is near a nest, move long enough for it to get full.

• Carebearing is NOT permitted at any time. (Carnivore protecting Herbivore, vice versa)

• Insults/Spam/Racism/Sexual references/Roleplay is NOT tolerated in global chat. You may be kicked/banned without warning. If you are going to roleplay keep it in the in-game group chat.

• NO use of exploits or any game breaking mechanic as found in Official Isle Rules (gamma, hacking, Reshade, using replays/alts/Patreon to your advantage, using nests to get rid of food quickly, etc...)

REALISM RULES ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” server(s).

• Eating from or guarding a (non-AI) body, or gore (AI included) is considered claiming it.

• Carnivores may claim ONE food source. If multiple are in the same area, they then claim all that are touching or are within the claiming carnivore's body length of each other (tail touching one corpse, nose touching another)

• Carnivores may CHALLENGE for another dinosaurs claimed food if they do not fear them. A member from one side must 3 call to initiate which must be accepted with a three call and/or repeated mock biting. Everyone on one side must 4 call and/or retreat, or a body must drop for a fight to end. The new body can be claimed by either side (forcing the others to take the first body), or challenged for.

• You can leave a smaller food source to challenge for a bigger, but cannot return to that old food source unless you lose the challenge.

• For Apex pairs: If one 4 calls in any kind of challenge, both forfeit.

• Once you forfeit food to another dino by four calling and/or walking away from a challenge, you cannot rechallenge that dino for that food.

• If you 3 call something near your claimed food multiple times and it does not leave, you may attack and chase it off but if it 4 calls or runs away, let it escape.

• AI (Taco/Velo/Oro/Ava) bodies do NOT count as claimable. You can still be hunted/killed with one present. AI gore, however, do count as claimable.

• If there is unclaimed gore/(non-AI) body, or a body claimed by dinosaurs that cannot challenge you, you must eat that before hunting other players.

• Avoid Lists are MANDATORY. If something on your Avoid List is hunting you, you can defend yourself/your pack/your herd until it gives up or you all get the chance to escape.

• You cannot challenge or hunt something if you do not have the minimum required pack/herd members visibly taking part.

• Growing mid-hunt to loophole the Avoid List will not stop the hunt. It stops when something dies, after that body is gone then Avoid List must be honored.

• 2-calling doesn't always mean friendship. 3-calling/mock attacking can be seen as a "get away" warning, or an attempt to pick a fight. Use with caution. Spam calling can get you threatened and -- if continued -- attacked, even by your own group. If a fight starts, treat it like a challenge; a body drop or 4 call stops the fight.

HUNTING / AGGRESSION ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” server(s).

• Killing a hatchling/juvenile accidentally or to save yourself during a confrontation will not end said confrontation. Intentionally killing one to stop a confrontation, or killing multiples is KOS and reportable.

• Only sub adult apexes, adult Tier 4+ carnivores, and lower Tier packs of 3+ adults can ignore juvi bodies. If the body is eaten from it is claimed and a hunt cannot take place until it's gone. Be aware that if you kill a packs'/apexes' young, they will be able to ignore that body and hunt you.

• Herbivores still follow the Body Down rule and must back off if a carnivore hunts and kills a hatchling/juvi. If it is accidentally killed in the cross fire, the fight can continue.

• You do NOT need to 3 call before hunting. 3 calls are only required if a body is already down and you are challenging for it.

• If a pack member is killed during a hunt, the rest of the pack MUST back down. Eat your packmates body first, then resume the hunt once the corpse is gone. If your prey is another carnivore and it claims the corpse, you must 3 call to challenge them for it.

• Carnivores are expected to be aggressive to other carnivores (that they do not avoid) near them or their food. Herbivores can claim/guard a food bush from other herbivores for the same reason.

• You may be aggressive to anything within your personal space. Mock attack and 3 roar to warn it. If it doesn't get the message, you may chase it for a few seconds from where you started.

• When chasing off other dinosaurs that you do not want near you, do NOT chase them further than a few seconds from where you started to chase. If they are running away, they do not want to fight. If it comes close again, then you can chase it down and kill it.

If there is a body/gore in herbivore nesting grounds and...

▸ Herbivore avoids the carnivore; the herbivore must keep its distance until the carnivore leaves, or nest elsewhere.

▸ Carnivore avoids the herbivore; the herbivore must keep its distance until the carnivore is no longer eating, then it can be pushed away until its hungry again.

▸ Neither party avoids the other; the herbivore must keep its distance, or push the carnivore away while it's not eating, with the risk of it choosing to threaten and fight back. The fight stops when a body drops or all parties on one side 4 calls/retreats. Apex pairs; if one 4 calls you both forfeit and must move away while you're not eating.

If a carnivore starts a hunt on an herbivore and/or their same-species herd mates, they are able to defend themselves/their herd to the death. The carnivore (or one of them if it's a pack) can be killed by the herbivore to save itself.

▸ An interaction is considered a hunt if a carnivore openly tracks a herd for an extended period of time after being warned multiple times, or if a carnivore attempts to / successfully attacks an herbivore.

▸ Be realistic in how far you chase a carnivore; if you have young/a herd, don't leave them behind and vulnerable. Only chase as far as needed to defend yourself and/or your herd.

• If an herbivore loses line of sight of the carnivore(s), the herbivore cannot continue to chase them unless they return and aggress again.

4 CALLS IN CHALLENGES ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” server(s).

• 4 Calls do not matter in a hunt! Kill or be killed.

• Apex territory: Fight stops when one (or both) from one pair retreats/4-calls. If a body drops, the solo can challenge for it, other wise the defeated party must leave -- even if they are bleeding/broken -- or be attacked. After 30 minutes the pair (or the solo with a new mate if the body of the old mate is gone) can rechallenge at the risk of death for a second 4 call/retreat will not be honored. When a body drops the fight stops. If they lose again they cannot rechallenge for any reason even with a new mate.

• Apex food: A 4 call/retreat from a challenge is a forfeit (from both in a pair). They cannot rechallenge for any reason, even with a new mate. Territory pushes can occur after the body is gone.

• Pack food: Everyone on one side must 4 call and/or retreat, or a body must drop for a fight to end. They can challenge for that new body if it's within body length of the first, if not the new body must be claimed. No rechallenge can be made for the old body.

• Herd territory: One that 4 calls and/or makes an obvious attempt to retreat has forfeited the fight and cannot be pursued nor can they rejoin the conflict. The fight ends when one side has 4 called/retreats, the losing side must leave the area and can rechallenge in 30 min. Babies cannot be targeted. Must have 3 same species adults and 1 female in your herd to challenge/defend a nesting ground.

• Pack territory: Same species, 3+ members on both sides.4 calls do not have to be honored (though they cannot return to the fight unless attacked). Combat will stop when a body drops, it is at this time a new challenge can be made and the pack will have the opportunity to forfeit the challenge or continue fighting. The losers must leave the area and can rechallenge in 30 min.

PACKING, HERDING AND NESTING ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” server(s).

• Herbivores CANNOT go out of their way protect other species of herbivore, but may allow themselves to be used as meatshields if they tolerate the other species. The larger herbivores can protect themselves against carnivores within their personal space, inadvertently protecting the smaller ones in the process.

• Nesting herbivores will not allow themselves to be used as meat shields. Watch for aggression aimed at you if you're being hunted and hiding behind nesting herbivores, they may just turn on you because you're putting them/their young in danger.

• Ceratopsians (Trike, Diablo, Ava) and Hadrosaurs (Shant, Para, Maia) are aggressive to one another and may not herd or nest together, but may herd and nest with other herbivore species while honoring the meatshielding rule.

• All ADULT dinos can nest asexually. Sub-Adults must have an Adult mate.

• If your pack/herd is full, any babies that grow to Sub-Adult must be kicked out.

• Hatchlings and juveniles have an unlimited herd/pack limit. Once one progresses into adult (or sub for some species) they must abide by pack limits.

APEX RULES ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” servers.

• You MUST be a pair of Adult Apexes to claim territory (an area around a lake/claimed body/any area that you can easily protect). Hunting, patrolling, nesting, or claiming a body automatically makes it your territory.

• Apex pairs that have claimed territory are highly aggressive to EVERY other apex within that territory. Even if both the claiming pair and the other apex have a body, the claiming pair must IMMEDIATELY chase them out of their territory. Any body in their territory becomes off limits to other apexes. Non-apex carnivores may claim bodies and do not have to be chased out of the territory but can be.

• If you are too far from your partner, you will be considered solo and must follow the solo Avoid List.

• You must be aggressive to smaller threats in your claimed territory if they get within your personal space (i.e. Acros, Allos, Carnos, Etc)

• If you do not have claimed territory, you MUST treat other Apexes in the area as a threat and be cautious around one another. Keep your distance. Do not friendly call, share food or help each other kill prey.

• Apex pairs MUST push solo apexes off of a body/gore before hunting anything else. The solo can fight to defend its food, or 4 call/fleee. Apexes will not wait for another apex to finish food just to hunt them.

• Adult apexes may pair with another adult or a Sub-Adult of either gender. Solo or paired apexes may choose to adopt or nest 1 Juvie and be aggressive to all others.

• Sub-Adults can pack together with juveniles up to 4, but they may not have any adults with them. Juveniles may pack in unlimited numbers.

WATER RULES ●

Rules specifically mandated for the Isla Nycta Isle “Semi-Realism” servers.

• If you are bleeding you cannot stay in deep water, or go into it repeatedly.

• All dinosaurs may swim to islands and across (but not remain in) water to travel, hunt or escape being hunted.

• If a dino is swimming, , they are safe from being hunted. Only Spinosaurids (Spino, Sucho, Bary) can initiate an attack while swimming and can force something out of the water by biting it. The attacked dino CAN defend itself.

ONLY Sauropods, (Puerta, Cama) Spinosaurids, Dilos, Austro and Velo are allowed to rest, hide in and swim around in water if they are NOT bleeding. If it has been bitten, it must stay out of water until it stops bleeding.

• Only Paired Spinos can guard LAKES and the land surrounding it up to the treeline, (NOT rivers) from other spinosaurids if they claim it as their territory. They can threaten off anything that enters their water. If a dino doesn't leave after plenty of warning, they can be attacked until they four call, or are killed.

• You MUST be wary of other Spinosaurid species in the water with you. Even if you are neutral to them, you are not friends, so keep your distance. If a spino pair has claimed a lake as their territory, they may choose to tolerate up to 2 Suchos and/or 4 Barys, any more and they must push them out.

• Spinos only tolerate another spino in their water if they are PAIRED with them, meaning only One Solo Spino or One Pair may be in a single lake. Exceptions to this rule: Great Lake, Swamps, Titan Lake, Twins.

FREE-FOR-ALL RULES ●

Only applies to Isla Nycta 4 and 5 - servers that do not adhere to the restrictions of the semi-realism servers. While this server will have considerably less rules than Isla Nycta 1, the following rules are still considered reportable offenses.
